This is a rechargeable Li-ion battery. you will be able to use this for several years. Like all batteries, the life expentancy between charges will decrease over time from 6-7 hours or so when new to less at time goes on. But we include a charger for you to charge the battery between uses. You will most likley need to buy a new battery every 18-24 months just like you do for your car battery. Will your Internet on your phone still work when connecting the Wifi to the camera?
This camera system creates a WIFI network that your phone will then connect directly to. This does not connect to a WIFI internet source, rather, the camera emits and creates a WIFI signal and if your phone/tablet is within WIFI range (about 100 ft), the camera will search for WIFI networks, connect to the WIFI network. Then you will open up the FREE APP and view and control camera from your phone/tablet. This system will not work or connect with a WIFI internet source

No, cell service is not required. The Camera emits a WIFI signal and if the cell phone is within WIFI range (about 100 feet), then you can connect to the camera using WIFI. Then you open up the FREE app and you can view the camera from your smart phone.
Can you have multiple cameras connected to a device/ipad and view live at the same time?
No, the Camera will only connect to one Tablet/phone at one time. What you are needing is an internet based camera that is connected to the internet and then you can access the live views through the internet. This is a much different technology. This system emits a WIFI signal and if your tablet/phone is within range (usually around 100-150 feet), then your phone/tablet can connect to this camera through WIFI directly. But you cannot connect multiple phones/tablet to this camera at the same time

Can camera be hooked to 12v instead of battery?

Can you turn the camera on/off from your phone?
No, you will need to turn the off/on button on the camera to turn the camera off, the app does control the camera in many ways, but not in the power function
